Who beat the parents in Indoor Soccer?

Austin Huntley emailed me this morning to remind me that Austin, Nick, Caleb, and Annika (among others) managed to beat the parent team of Larry and Heidi. Austin wants his victory posted on the web, although some might think that the kids were actually "offsides" when they eeked out a score against the parents!!!

Gilsum plays Alstead!

What an adventure trying to get to the remaining soccer field in Alstead, NH (the other fields were washed out by the flood) on Saturday, October 22. We had to take back roads to get to the Vilas School field...but we made it and had a great time playing with the kids from Alstead.

There was no doubt that Alstead had been hard hit by the flood from the previous week...but the kids and parents were in great spirits as the kids finally got a chance to play.

Directions to Acworth's soccer field

Mary Lord sent this email message to me to let us know where the field is in Acworth:

The Acworth Field is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so if you think you are lost, you are probably going the right way. Larry, when you come from Gilsum, you can go up Route 10 through Marlow, and take a left onto Route 123A. This will take you through to South Acworth, where you will come to a four-way intersection. Take a right up the hill (Hill Road) and follow it to Acworth Center. You will take Turkey Shoot Road, which is located between the Church on the Hill and the Acworth School. Follow this road a couple of miles and the field will be on the left. You will pass a gold colored split level house/farm on the right and the sign for the field will be on a tree on the left shortly after.
Mike, when you come from Walpole, you will go through Alstead and follow the signs to Acworth (Take a left before Kmiec's Gulf Station, toward the Vilas Pool). Follow this road - Route 123A to South Acworth. You will come to the same four-way intersection that I told Larry about, but from the opposite direction. At this intersection (there's a brown house on the corner), you will take a left and go up the hill to Acworth Center.
At the top of the hill you will go straight onto Turkey Shoot Road, which is located between the church and the school. Follow this road a couple of miles and the field will be on the left. You will pass a gold colored split level house/farm on the right and the sign for the field will be on a tree on the left shortly after.

Special thanks to Pat at Sullivan School for help in distributing flyers over there.

Looking for a field?

Mike from Alstead wrote in to tell us where his field is:

Our field is in the center of town across from the Alstead store on 123.

Keep sending in your field info so can have a centralized source of info.
